DL Dylan Carpenter Announced his Commitment to the Tigers on Sunday night.

The purple and gold keep growing by the hour as the 2023 defensive lineman Dylan Carpenter announced his commitment to the Tigers on Sunday night.

LSU officially flipped the formally committed lineman from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. The St. Amant lineman is the 25th commitment and third defensive lineman of the class.

The Tigers also have a pair of edge rushers in Jaxon Howard and Joshua Mickens currently committed to the class but Carpenter makes the first in state win for defensive line coach Jamar Cain. It’s the latest recruiting win for the Tigers, who have continued to recruit the state of Louisiana with great care as Carpenter also makes the 11th in state commitment for the Tigers in the 2023 class.j

Carpenter was in Baton Rouge for the Tigers top 10 battle with Alabama and witnessed what Death Valley is truly like when the stakes are highest. LSU was able to turn that momentum into a commitment today, hoping that many more follow before the class is up.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder committed to UL-Lafayette on July 31. However, the chance to stay closer to home and to be a part of Kelly’s program was too good to pass on.

Carpenter was one of the many prospects who took in action and raved about his time in Tiger Stadium.

“Tonight was electric,” Carpenter told Steve Wiltfong shortly after the 32-31 overtime victory. “Loved every second of it. Glad to be a part of such a great game. It seems like they are getting better every week and I believe that it’s going to continue to get better through the next couple years. LSU has a great thing going with Coach Kelly.”

Carpenter is ranked as the No. 18 prospect in Louisiana and the No. 44 EDGE.

Carpenter gives the Tigers 25 commitments for the 2023 class and Carpenter is the third pickup for Kelly and his staff since October 26.
