Finally, LSU Receives Votes in USA Today’s Top 25 Coaches Poll

The Tigers are still on the outside looking in for Sunday’s update of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, but for the first time this season, they’re receiving votes in the poll — only two of them, but nonetheless.

LSU won its SEC opener on Saturday night over Mississippi State, overcoming a 13-0 first-half deficit to earn a 31-16 victory. Coach Brian Kelly’s team is now 2-1 (1-0 SEC) on the year with winnable upcoming matchups against New Mexico and Auburn.

As far as the rest of the Coaches Poll goes, there was quite a bit of movement. Only two teams didn’t move, and Georgia is now No. 1 in both polls after passing Alabama. It overtook the top spot in the AP Top 25 last week.
