LA D-lineman Ahmad Breaux Commits to LSU

Defensive end Ahmad Breaux had a whirlwind weekend. It came to a head on Sunday when he committed to LSU.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder visited LSU on Saturday for the junior day as a Duke commitment. LSU offered during the visit, and a day later, he announced he was staying home.

“My day was one of the best experiences ever,” Breaux told 247Sports after he got the offer. “I was warmly welcomed by the entire staff as soon as I came in the football operations center and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

“The biggest highlight of the day was when I had a great conversation with Coach Matt House, and he gave me a true insight into a system that truly fits me, and it opened my eyes entirely to LSU.”

Some of Breaux’s bigger offers included Ole Miss, Purdue, Missouri, Tulane and UL-Lafayette. Several Power 5 schools have been inquiring on Breaux of late, so that offer list should grow over the coming months.

247Sports rates Breaux a high three-star prospect and ranks him as the nation’s No. 42 EDGE and the No. 14 prospect in Louisiana. He slots in at No. 54 at his position on the industry-generated 247Sports Composite and is No. 15 overall in the state.
