LSU Players That Got Injured vs. New Mexico

LSU had a laundry list of injured players coming into this game, adding a few names by the night’s end. Brian Thomas Jr., Malik Nabers, Armoni Goodwin, and Daniels were all injured tonight, and the injuries piling up will be something to watch as the season marches on.

The Most Serious one:

Jayden Daniels, QB LSU

Strains back Saturday

September 24, 2022

LSU coach Brian Kelly said that Daniels strained his lower back during Saturday’s 38-0 win over New Mexico, Wilson Alexander of The New Orleans Advocate reports.

ANALYSIS
Daniels initially appeared to suffer a head injury after being tackled hard to the ground Saturday, but he now seems to be dealing with a minor lower back strain, according to Kelly. The Tigers’ head coach added that the junior could have returned but that it was unnecessary given wide scoring margin by that point of the game. Daniels’ next opportunity to play will come on the road against Auburn in Week 5; otherwise, freshman Garrett Nussmeier will step in under center for LSU.
