LSU Sets Citrus Bowl Record for Points

Quad Wilson carried LSU into the Citrus Bowl record books with a late pick-6.

There was just over 1 minute left when Purdue snapped the ball on 4th-and-9, hoping to cut into the Tigers’ 56-7 lead before the end of the game. Wilson went 99 yards with the interception to further extend LSU’s lopsided lead.

The extra point was good, and LSU finished with 63 points. The Tigers now hold the Citrus Bowl records for points scored, yards gained, and margin of victory.

Malik Nabers, Garrett Nussmeier, and Noah Cain each contributed two touchdowns. Nabers, the game’s MVP, had nine catches for 163 yards, a TD, and a passing score. The pick-6 was one of 3 turnovers snagged by the Tiger defense in Monday’s game.
