Mubenga is a 6-foot-4, 280-pound three-star offensive lineman from Buford, Georgia. He was crystal-balled to Michigan by three different Wolverines insiders, but coach Brian Kelly pulled a rabbit out of his hat and snagged Mubenga out of the claws of Jim Harbaugh.
At 6-foot-4, 280 pounds, Mubenga has that prototypical size you look for in an o-lineman. He most recently was on LSU’s campus at the end of June for a recruiting visit, and the momentum grew on his potential to join the program.
The Tigers need the offensive line to move forward, and the buck won’t stop with Mubenga. LSU is in the mix for several high-profile linemen, including Louisiana’s Zalance Heard, Tyree Adams, and Chase Bisontis, a top 100 player out of the New Jersey area.
LSU’s class now stands at 16 players after adding Mubenga, and it now ranks seventh in the country on the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Kelly has been having a ball recruiting players from the Peach State. He has established a pipeline to the areas surrounding Atlanta as he already has multiple commits from north Georgia in 2023 and 2024.
