LSU had been rising consistently in the recruiting rankings since the start of July, and after landing Jackson, it sits with the No. 8 class in the cycle according to the On3 Consensus rankings. That gives the Tigers the third-best class in the SEC behind Alabama (No. 3) and Georgia (No. 7).
Their class also ranks No. 8 on the 247Sports Composite rankings and features two top-100 recruits, including five-star Miami receiver Jalen Brown, who committed last week.
LSU isn’t done, either. It is the favorite to land several other top prospects, including five-star Baton Rouge receiver Shelton Sampson Jr. Coach Brian Kelly will also hope to land a few offensive line prospects, as the class currently has none.
Expectations were high for Kelly’s bump class in 2023, and despite a bit of a slow start, things are coming together nicely. The Tigers should be vying for a top-five spot when it’s all said and done.
