LSU’s Transfer Portal Class Rankings, Stands at #3. Here is Why.

Overall the LSU’s transfer portal class ranks No. 3 in the country with its nine players on board, sitting just behind Colorado and Florida State. Here’s the breakdown of the transfer portal player rankings for LSU, which at this time doesn’t even include the addition of Johnson:

Denver Harris – No. 3

Zy Alexander – No. 15

Aaron Anderson – No. 30

Paris Shand – No. 36

Jordan Jefferson – No. 60

Duce Chestnut – No. 61

Bradyn Swinson – No. 179

While it may not be the 15 players the Tigers added during the last recruiting cycle via the portal, nine is still a pretty big statement on how much the program feels it still needs to build in some areas.

What’s also extremely important is that many of these portal additions have several years of eligibility remaining to impact the program. While coach Brian Kelly has stated that a constant goal of entering the portal is to find Louisiana talent; there’s been a plan to attack players with multiple years of eligibility.

“They have got to be the right fit first,” Kelly said of any portal additions to the program. “They have to recognize the value of an education from LSU. They have to have the right traits. We are not just open for business. We’re not just putting a sign up saying, hey, we are going to take whoever. They have to be the right fit. I prefer that they are from the state of Louisiana if we can find them. And then we are going to address needs based upon how that freshman class marries into it by the particular needs by position class.”
