Head coach Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers did not have the game they hoped for against the defending national champions, Georgia. The Tigers fell 50-30 in a game that never felt very close.
Kelly brought up the point a couple of times that Georgia was simply the better team Saturday afternoon in Atlanta. Still, as he said, you have to bring your all against the No. 1 team in the country if you want to walk out with a win.
LSU got some excellent play from backup quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, too. Starter Jayden Daniels was not 100% and had to leave just after halftime. Nussmeier came in and threw for 294 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception.
Kelly addressed why Daniels left postgame.
Kelly also addressed some obvious errors the Tigers made throughout the night, including a blocked field goal that was returned for a touchdown. He took full responsibility for the misplay, saying he and the coaching staff has to prepare the players to be more alert in those situations.
