Florida State starting quarterback Jordan Travis spoke on Thursday. He reflected on his performance against Duquesne. He shared how he feels physically after the game. He spoke about practice and prep for LSU. On his confidence after the opening game/strong camp: I’m as confident as I’ve ever been. My teammates helped me a lot. My coaches helped me a lot. I couldn’t do it by myself. I am thankful for all of them. I’m thankful for my family members, who push me every day and help me keep the right mindset. I wake up in the morning and I’m happy; I can’t wait to get out here. I told the other people I could go through another practice right now. I love it so much. I love being out on the field with the boys, competing daily.
On having total command of the offense: Yeah. I’m so confident right now in this offense. I feel good about everything. So yeah, I’m comfortable. So I can go out there, and I know when there is the pressure when there is pressures coming when I’m gonna be hot. I’m so comfortable right now.
On being able to play fast because of his confidence in the offense: Yeah, when you know what you’re doing, it’s much easier to go faster. Coach Norvell always talks about go as fast as you can play. So I try not to rush anything. I just go as fast as I can get to the line, see everything, don’t rush anything, just get the boys set and see what’s going on with the defense.
On how he played on Saturday: I feel like I did good. I managed the game well. The o-line did great. The receivers made big plays. But yeah, I played pretty well. Obviously, there’s a lot of room for improvement all the time from me. It’s never perfect. So I just gotta keep getting better every single day.
On having confidence on FSU’s offense against LSU’s defense, secondary: I have all the confidence in the world. I can’t wait to see Sunday. It’s gonna be special for sure. Our guys been working really hard this offseason, this fall camp, it has been really special. So I can’t wait to see guys go out there and it’s going be special because we’re gonna see a lot of big plays out there. Yeah, I can’t wait.
