LSU needed experienced help on the defensive line, and Brian Kelly found some in the NCAA Transfer Portal. West Virginia defensive tackle Jordan Jefferson committed to LSU late Friday morning.
Jefferson contributed over the last handful of seasons as a four-year veteran interior lineman in the 6-foot-3, 310-pound range. Still, he broke onto the scene in 2022 when he recorded 31 tackles, 9.5 tackles for a loss, three sacks, and broke up five passes in 12 games with the Mountaineers.
In need of interior defensive line depth, Jefferson will join Florida transfer Jalen Lee as another new addition to the Tigers’ defensive tackle rotation, along with veteran returners Maason Smith, Mekhi Wingo, Jacobian Guillory, Tygee Hill and Bryce Langston, along with versatile guys who could play inside or on the end in Quency Wiggins and Arizona transfer Paris Shand.
